Property Description

On six acres of historic farmland in northern Montgomery County, Maryland, this thoughtful custom home evokes the warmth of an English cottage and the practicality of a working farmhouse.

The lifelong vision of two biotech professionals with three young children and demanding schedules, the home was completed in2025 under the care of acclaimed custom home builder, Mueller Homes, and residential architect Jonathan Rivera.

While the homesite presented some upfront challenges, including strict septic requirements and a rocky subsurface, a thoughtful and well-considered design was created to deliver a family home centered around baking, cooking, and gathering.

Inside, interior design firm Ella Lee Interiors and the craftsmen atCharles Henry Woodworking created a cohesive visual language for the home, including custom cabinetry, mushroom-colored countertops, and natural stone surfaces. A wrap-around porch connecting to a screened porch with a wood-burning fireplace gives the home a clear relationship with the surrounding natural landscape, blending traditional charm with modern functionality.
