Property Description

Located on a gracious parcel along San Domingo Creek in historic Saint Michaels, Maryland, this stunning custom home blends the best of classical architecture and contemporary taste.

Completed in 2020, this spectacular property was conceived by award-winning residential architecture firm Wouter Boer Architects, who partnered with acclaimed custom home builders Horizon Builders to create a quintessential waterfront retreat.

Set on a gracious four-acre parcel in one of the most desirable communities on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the home site — designed in collaboration with Arentz Landscape Architects — required careful navigation of several important elements, including an existing tennis court and septic field, a 100-foot buffer from high water’s edge, flood zones, and multiple overlapping critical root zones of mature oak trees scattered throughout the property.

The resulting U-shaped home features a unique five-part plan that spans over 125' in width on the first floor. Traditional glass hyphens allow for water views from every room while making it possible to site the house comfortably within the restricted building envelope.

The interior features a decidedly contemporary aesthetic, including minimal trim and a pure white palette. Furniture is sparse and subdued, with spaces punctuated by only a few prominent pieces of art, custom cabinetry by acclaimed architectural millwork studio Gaston & Wyatt, and windows by Tradewood Industries.
