Property Description

Located on a gracious 30 acre parcel in the heart of Howard County, Maryland, this custom home marries rustic sensibilities with modern design.

Completed in 2022 by Anthony Wilder Design/Build, this 4,500 square foot residence was designed with three key objectives: single level living, maximizing views of the property’s lake, and incorporating an architectural silo to elevate the concept of the modern farmhouse style.

To begin, a linear floor plan was employed to create a view of the property’s lake and account for the unique architectural character of the silo. Trussed ceilings and a stick-framed roof in the home’s dining room create sense of formal elegance, while a geothermal system and state-of-the-art home automation system elevate the built-environment for residents and guests alike.

Designed to feel like a house that had been elegantly added to over the years — a “new old home” so to speak — the floor plan allows the house to connect to nature, with the silo serving as a perfect place for a showstopping staircase and focal point of the home.
