This custom home designed and built by Anthony Wilder Design/Build is more than 4,500-square-foot on 30 acres. It marries modern living with farmhouse aesthetics including a linear floor plan with a view of the property’s lake, a silo incorporated into the architecture of the home, single story living with only guest rooms on the second floor, no basement, a geothermal system, and a state-of-the-art home automation.

The owners requested a house that looked like it had been elegantly added onto over the years with the new footprint allowing the house to connect to nature. The silo, which became the perfect place for a showstopping staircase, was placed at the front of the house. The silo started as a design challenge, but became the focal point, helping to create a completely new take on modern farmhouse style. 

The dramatic designs—the spiral staircase in the silo, trussed ceilings in the family room, and a stick-framed dining room roof—bring sophisticated elegance to farmhouse style.
