Created in partnership with acclaimed interior designer Leigh Johnson, award-winning residential architecture firm Rosney Co. Architets, and award-winning custom home buiilders Ilex Construction, this sophisticated country home balances expansive entertaining spaces with intimate private rooms, creating a home that feels equally suited for lively multigenerational weekends and quiet evenings for two.

The architecture unfolds as a series of interconnected volumes that step naturally across the hillside, allowing the 6,500-square-foot home to settle gracefully into its setting rather than dominate it. Quarried stone, board-and-batten siding, and a bronze roof were selected for their enduring character and ability to weather beautifully over time, reinforcing the home’s deep connection to the land and its site along the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Inside, richly layered interiors blend warmth, craftsmanship, and collected personality. A palette of soft neutrals, mossy greens, dusky pinks, and deep blues shifts throughout the home, creating moments that feel airy and expansive alongside spaces that are intentionally intimate and cocooning. Vaulted ceilings, custom millwork, artisan metalwork, Venetian plaster, and expressive wallpapers lend texture and depth, while antiques mingle effortlessly with contemporary furnishings and statement lighting.

Every room was designed with a distinct point of view, from the luminous gallery hall anchored by a monumental mosaic to the jewel-box bar wrapped in lacquered teal cabinetry, antiqued mirrors, and brass detailing. Throughout the home, bespoke craftsmanship and thoughtful detailing create an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and deeply personal.
