Located on an idyllic perch in the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, this modern mountain home evokes the ideals of rustic luxury.

Completed in 2025 under the guidance of residential architecture firm Pillar & Perch: Architects + Builders, this custom home carefully considers site and structure to offer modern comforts and breathtaking mountain views.

The topography of the home site created unique challenges and opportunities, resulting in a numnber of unique architectural considerations and details. Of note, a centrally located courtyard — perched on a raised platform overlooking the mountains between the primary residence and detached garage — features a firepit for inspiring outdoor gatherings.

Inside, vaulted ceilings, structural beams, and large window walls expose the inside living areas to the dramatic mountain views beyond. A stone fireplace made of stone and timber creates a rustic appeal.
