WHERE IS MY PROJECT DATA STORED?
Everything you enter (projects, costs, subcontractor quotes, RFPs) are stored in a secure database that is only accessible to you.
DO YOU SELL OR SHARE MY DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES?
No. Benchmark and the data and insights therein are available only to you.
WHO IS BENCHMARK BUILT FOR?
Benchmark is the perfect tool for boutique design professionals such as residential architects, custom home builders, interior designers, and landscape architects who want to track cost and pricing trends for custom homes and large scale renovations.
HOW DOES THE SUBCONTRACTOR DIRECTORY WORK?
The subcontractor directory contains businesses curated by members of our Partner Network. Each entry is tagged with the firm/s that have previosly worked with them. You can filter by trade and location, link quotes and actuals back to specific line items in your projects, and add your own private subcontractors that only you can see.
CAN OTHER FIRMS SEE MY PROJECTS?
No. Your projects and RFP inquiries are visible only to you.
WHERE DOES THE MARKET DATA COME FROM?
Spec home and land sales come from publicly recorded transactions across DC, MD, VA, DE, PA, NJ, and WV. Cost-mix benchmarks come from the National Association of Home Buillders (NAHB). Full methodology sits in the Research tab of the app.
WILL I BE ABLE TO EXPORT MY DATA?
Yes. You can download a full backup of your projects, subs, and inquiries at any time.
HOW DO SUBCONTRACTORS GET ADDED — CAN ANYONE JOIN?
Members can add a subcontractor they've worked with directly, or subcontractors themselves can request placement — but only after a named member of the Partner Network confirms the working relationship on a specific project.
IS MY DATA USED TO CALCULATE BENCHMARKS?
No. All market medians (including $/FSF, price per acre, cost mix, and so on) come from public data from architecturally designed spec home sales and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Your logged projects never contribute to general reference benchmarks.
HOW OFTEN IS DATA UPDATED?
Spec home data and land sales refresh annually. Between refreshes the numbers stay stable so year-over-year comparisons in your own project logs are apples-to-apples. National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) benchmarks refresh as new survey data is published — roughly every two years.
IS THERE A PAID TIER?
Access to Benchmark is included as a benefit of membership to our Partner Network.
HOW DO I REPORT A BUG OR REQUEST A FEATURE?
Email benchmark@rappahannock.co with the tab you were on and a screenshot if the issue is visual. Feature requests from active members shape the roadmap directly.
