The Award-Winning Architects of Maryland

The Award-Winning Architects of Maryland

Maryland is among the most architecturally significant markets in the United States. From the restoration of Colonial era country homes in Northern Baltimore County and Maryland’s Eastern Shore to spectacular custom homes in the close-in suburbs of Chevy Chase and Bethesda, Maryland offers unmatched opportunity for creative design — and a clear mandate to engage with a trusted architect who understands site, context, and your unique vision.

In this list of Maryland’s award-winning resdiential architects and residential architecture firms, we aim to provide a comprehsnive resource for those seeking to undertake an ambitious renovation or create a custom home.

First, each architect and architecture firm must have a formal business presence in Maryland, as well a project portfolio that exhibits distinct capabilities in executing architecturally distinct residential projects in the Old Line State.

Next, each architect and architecture firm must have a professional designation under The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and earned an award. As the premiere professional trade association for Architects throughout the United States, the AIA designation exhibits a level of professional excellence in the craft, with an award (always peer reviewed) distinguishes them from the crowd.

Leveraging thoughtful design and unmatched attention to detail, the breadth and depth offered by these award-winning residential architects in architecture firms in Maryland offer what few can match.
